Reports and exports

Open Reports

Open an exam and select Reports. The page is pinned to the displayed Administration version and contains Student reports, a searchable/selectable result table, and Class performance.

Each student row shows question scores/actions, earned total, final percentage, report state, email/release state, and a selection checkbox. A question cell can link directly to free-response review, provisional approval, re-review, auto-graded recognition, or a missing prerequisite.

Report readiness

A report is ready only for a confirmed canonical packet with a current completed result for every gradeable question:

  • each free-response question has an approved final against the current canonical rubric, including an explicit missing-work final when appropriate;
  • each auto-graded question has a current definitive recognition and a current score against the current key;
  • no unresolved packet or late-scan conflict blocks release.

Provisional assessments are not complete. An unresolved student packet conflict keeps the student in missing-scanned-work status until a canonical packet is chosen.

Report states

State Meaning
Ready Current grading can be previewed and released; no report has been released for it yet.
Released The released report matches the current grading state.
Unreleased changes / Prior version released The student link still shows the older report, but grading, rubric, key, or scanned work has changed. Preview the new report and release an update.
Failed release The report could not be released; inspect the detail and retry after resolving the cause.
Grading incomplete Scanned work exists but at least one gradeable question lacks a current completed result.
Missing scanned work No confirmed detected-work record exists, or packet conflict remains unresolved.

Preview and release

Choose Preview report to open the current report in a new tab. Preview does not release the report or email the student. If an older report has already been released, View old report and Preview new report allow comparison.

Select ready rows, choose Release reports in Action, and select the release button. Students with distinct nonblank roster emails are automatically sent their report link. A report for a student without email can still be released; use Copy student link to deliver it separately.

The student link remains the same when an updated report is released. A released report contains question and total scores, published questions, student work, the rubric and assessment for free-response questions, and the recorded and correct answers for auto-graded questions. Use browser print to create a PDF copy when needed.

There is no separate manual resend control in the Reports table. Releasing a new or updated report sends the email automatically.

Export detailed report CSV

Select rows, choose Export report CSV, and export. This CSV uses current grading and does not require released reports. Columns contain student, sections, question labels, raw earned total, and final percentage. A complete question contains its score. An incomplete question instead contains its current action or status, such as Provisional 4.00, Grade, Rubric, Review, or an auto-graded status. Total and final percentage remain blank until the row is complete.

Export to the LMS

If the course has an LMS format, choose Export to Canvas or Export to D2L Brightspace. LMS export uses current completed canonical-exam grades, including unreleased reports. It is therefore a grade-transfer workflow, not a report-release workflow.

  • D2L Brightspace: identity/name/email columns plus exam columns ending in Points Grade; values are raw earned points on the original exam scale.
  • Canvas: Canvas Gradebook-style identity columns regardless of accepted Canvas roster source, one column per canonical exam label, and a Points Possible row; values are raw earned points.

Students added manually require the course's LMS identity field. Review identifiers, points possible, and a sample row in both the downloaded file and the destination LMS preview before committing an import.

Gradebook

Open the course-name menu and select Gradebook to compare active students across canonical exams. Cells link back to the corresponding Reports page with that student search prefilled. Select rows and export the configured LMS format. Released and unreleased grades are visually distinguished, but every completed grade is eligible for the gradebook/export regardless of report release.

Class performance

The table contains one row per gradeable question, with points, approved coverage, average, distribution, and eligible AI analysis. Context-only multipart parents and provisional/revoked assessments are excluded. The Total row includes only confirmed exams with a completed approved result for every gradeable question.

Open a distribution control to see anonymous score data. Ordinary cohorts use stacked score dots; larger cohorts use a histogram. Accessible descriptions state population, range, and average.

For a free-response question, an authorized instructor can request an AI performance summary from its icon. If the question, rubric, course context, or finalized results change, the prior summary is marked out of date and remains viewable until an update is requested. Auto-graded questions have numeric statistics but no AI analysis action.

Reports and exports

The Reports page shows readiness, preview, release, delivery, CSV/LMS export, and class-performance information for the displayed administration version. Instructors can filter records, preview a student report, release eligible reports, generate secure access, and export documented data. Preview and selection alone do not release anything.

Student report preview

This instructor-only preview renders the report that current grading state would produce for one student record. Use it to inspect question results and evidence before release; it does not create a public link, send email, or mark the report released.

Released student report

This instructor view renders the currently released report snapshot for one student record. It may identify unreleased changes made after that snapshot. Viewing it does not publish an update or notify the student.
